Frequently Asked Questions

Which operating systems are supported?

Visaria runs natively on Windows. Mac and Linux versions are coming soon. See our install assistance pages on the Forum.

What computer specification do I need to run Visaria?

A dedicated GPU is required. As a minimum, Visaria runs on cards such as the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 and 1050 Ti, the AMD Radeon RX 560, and older GTX 950 / 960 cards or above. If you don't have a GPU and can upgrade, a used card for around £30 will be a noticeable improvement for your PC and allow Visaria to run smoothly. For fully fluid motion we recommend an RTX 2060 or RX 5600 XT or above, along with an 8th-gen Intel Core i5 (or equivalent) and 8 GB of memory.

Do I need an internet connection to run simulations?

No. Everything runs locally on your own CPU+GPU. The app only needs to connect briefly to validate your licence and receive updates, which happens in the background at least every 30 days.

Is it a one-time purchase or a subscription and is it updated?

Licences are annual and auto-renew. You can expect a renewal notification 30 days prior, with information on how to cancel if required. After cancellation, on expiry, you will no longer be able to run the solvers, but all of your scenario files and outputs remain fully accessible and are local to your machine. Visaria is in active development and automatic updates (when enabled) will be available for any bug fixes and for upgrading to new solvers as they become available.

How does student and academic pricing work, and how do I prove eligibility?

Relevant student and academic courses attract discounted pricing at our discretion. We welcome you to get in touch from your institutional email address with your proof of enrolment or academic employment, to education@visaria.dev. We aim to get back to you with next steps within 48hrs. Your licence will be linked to your educational address.
